As another wonderful year draws to a close I reflect on our achievements as a strong cohesive Youth Club with ties to local community and NSW RSL Clubs.
In April we had 5 members Jessica Foley, Natasha Klansek, Katelyn Power, Kristie Vranjkovic, Madeleine Whitby represent our Youth Club on the Reciprocal Tour to New Zealand . From all the lead up camps, meetings, rehearsals and the farewell concert our girls received nothing but praise for the way they represented our Youth Club. Special mention and thanks to Francesca Mooney who has waved good-bye to both her girls on previous tours and who has now experienced the tour as an assistant chaperone.
The Youth Club was represented at the all important Commemoration Sunday March and service at CHP RSL Club, they braved the cold and rain at the ANZAC Day March in the city, and the rain just held off until after the wreath laying service at the ANZAC Day Sunset Service at CHP RSL Club.
Our members participated in Salvation Army Red Shield Door Knock Appeal and members donated generously to a Canned Food Drive for the Exodus Foundation, 2 cars filled with grocery and toiletry items were donated. These items are distributed as food parcels to families in our local community and also used in the Loaves and Fishes restaurant at Ashfield.
